Troon

Troon in South Ayrshire is 8 miles north of Ayr and the new home for P&O Ferries Irish Sea. P&O operate a seasonal fast craft the P&O Express between March to October with a crossing time of under 2 hours. Situated just 35 minutes from Glasgow and not much further to Edinburgh, Troon is surrounded by golf courses including the world famous Royal Troon Golf Club which staged the British Open in 2003.

Getting to Troon:

The best away to approach the Port of Troon to the North is by the A78 from Irvine and to the west via the A77 from Ayr. Follow the signs to the Ferry Port.
