Cairnryan is a small Scottish village overlooking Loch Ryan and is notable today for its large modern ferry port, operated by P&O, which links Scotland with Larne in Northern Ireland. The village has been of vital importance in maritime history.
P&O Ferries offer services to Larne year round at competitive rates to Stena Line who are currently operating a little further up the coast in Stranraer. Stena Line will move its operation out of Stranraer once a port development in Cairnryan is complete although recent feasibility tests and costs for development at Cairnryan mean the project is on hold.
