Dunkerque

Situated in the northernmost part of France the harbour town of Dunkerque is served by Norfolk Line from Dover. Famous for the evacuation in 1940 when Winston Churchill ordered all available vessels which totalled 900 and removed the stranded soldiers and men totalling over 300,000 from the beaches of Dunkerque.

With its great location close to the Belgium border Dunkerque allows visitors easy access to the Benelux countries as well as Germany and Italy. The quieter port of Dunkerque means passengers with onward journeys dont encounter as much traffic as busier French Ports but still have great road networks.
